Whether writing your first novel or opening the bakery you’ve always dreamed of, you want that hard work and time equity to pay off. Maybe you hope for a monetary return on your investment, or you think it would be nice to get some recognition for what you’re going to accomplish.

It’s great to have ambitions. Just don’t forget why you decided to do it in the first place. Hopefully, it’s for the sheer love of it and what you can do for others. As Maya Angelou said:

The desire to reach for the stars is ambitious. The desire to reach hearts is wise.

As you pursue your goal, remember what value it will add to others.
